SMARTCHAIN is an ambitious 3 year H2020 multi-actor project with 43 partners from 11 different countries. Its central objective is to foster and accelerate the shift towards collaborative short food supply chains (SFSCs) and, through specific actions and recommendations, to introduce new robust business models and innovative practical solutions that enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of the European agri-food system.
The project has developed the SMARTCHAIN innovation platform (https://www.smartchain-platform.eu/). This online platform facilitates knowledge, innovative practical solutions and know-how transfer to different types of stakeholders (e.g. farmers & cooperatives, policy makers, consumer, food industry). The innovation platform includes two inventories: Initiative inventory and Innovation inventory.
