The European Union aims to significantly reduce pesticide use and its impact on agriculture. Two H2020 projects, IPMWORKS and IPM Decisions, are working towards this goal by promoting a comprehensive approach to Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

IPMWORKS brings together farmers and advisors across Europe to demonstrate that reducing pesticide use is practical and cost-effective when all aspects of IPM are implemented on farms.

IPM Decisions provides farmers and advisors with easy-to-use online tools to help them avoid unnecessary pesticide treatments. Researchers can also use specialized dashboards to analyze, compare, and develop these decision-support systems.

The IPM Conference 2024, taking place on May 14th in Brussels, will be a forum for stakeholders involved in IPM development. This includes farmers, advisors, retailers, agricultural industries, researchers, decision-support developers, and policymakers. The conference will showcase results and tools from both projects, featuring real-world success stories from farmers and advisors who have successfully implemented IPM practices to reduce their reliance on pesticides.
